In Canada, over 59,000 children are navigating the turbulent waters of the foster care system. In the United States, there are over 400,000.

Advocating for the needs of today’s children and youth, while also being a beacon of hope, is of the utmost importance.

Drawing from my own firsthand experiences and overcoming tremendous obstacles as a former foster child, child of kinship care, and a foster and adoptive mother, I have gained valuable insight in championing the rights of vulnerable children and youth. I’m committed to working tirelessly to affect meaningful change in policies and support systems. Advocacy work is not merely a mission, but my own personal calling - a commitment to amplifying voices whose cries too often fall on deaf ears.

In sharing my story of resilience, courage, and unwavering determination, I hope to shed light on the challenges faced by those affected by foster care and family separation. My lifework is to use my personal journey to serve as a powerful catalyst for change, illuminating the poignant realities that often go unseen.
